In Egypt we have a culture of passivity and discouragement. People discourage each other from 'volunteering' to help in extremely significant causes, stating that 'nothing will change'. Obviously, nothing will change with that attitude.
The Egyptian Center for Women Rights is working towards four consecutive steps, addressing Sexual Harrassment in Egypt.
Sexual Harrassment is a big slap in the face of tourism in Egypt - our main source of income - as many female tourists return to their home offended, humiliated and disgusted.
Powerful educational, social, legal and journalistic measures are needed to combat this phenomenon.

A man will always have more muscle strength then a woman, so IMHO it`s better to use psychological tactics. BTW, I remember a research about this subject, and only in some cases there are psychological tactics that might work. For the rest it seems there isn`t very what a woman can do, as keep her head clear, use her brains, and keep the damage as limited as possible. I think that selfdefence can do no harm, also the selfesteem will grow knowing that you are not weak-willed handed over to a lunatic...

Not necessarily. If you know a bit about martial arts you will notice that often the technique is based on using your opponent's strength against him. So if you master the right technique it doesn't matter who has more muscle mass or strength. That's one of the reasons I've always planned to learn Ving Chung, btw. Still haven't gotten around to do it yet, though. *sigh* http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wing_chun
The psychological part might be important as well; after all studies have shown that many women have some kind of inhibition about getting physical or violent and actually hurting someone. But mastering a good self defense technique will definitely help you cope with a violent situation on a physical level.
But wasn't there alerady a discussion about this campaign in the LIE section?
