The case for the Elder Lady being Queen Tiye is much stronger than it was just a few years ago. It is true that we will not put this issue to rest until DNA work is done but the circumstantial evidence seems convincing. Any jury in a modern court would convict on this evidence. 1. The famous hair samples. New forensic techniques have elevated this study to the level of a finger print. It is also highly unlikely that Tiye hair would have been mislabeled in Tut's tomb. 2. Skull measurements ate consistent with Thuya's 3. Bood group tests have also backed up the initial possibilities.
None of these things alone would indicate the mummy is Tiye but all of them together make a strong case that it is.
