This thread is a compilation a list of interesting facts about the lesser documented Old and Middle Kingdoms. I'll start:

1. Pepi II was younger than Tut when he took the throne and reigned much longer.

2. Amenemhet I may have been murdered as the result of a conspiracy by local governers.

3. Sesostris III returned the prestige back to the Pharaohs after the first intermediate period.
