THE ANCIENT EGYPTIANS ON CRETE: THE MINOAN INSCRIPTIONS TELL
Sergei Victorovich General director The non- profit Foundation Research Centre for Studies
Abstract: In this work Sergei V. Rjabchikov has studied a number of Minoan texts of Linear A and some parallels in Mycenaean Greek texts of Linear B. It turned out that the Egyptians visited Crete during the reign of Pharaoh Thutmose I and other times and carried the brisk trade with the Minoans. It cannot be ruled out that the pharaoh himself came there. Such contacts existed during the Mycenaean period of the history of the island. The author used the methods of structural and contrastive linguistics.

No surprise there. Crete has been a major trade partner of Egypt since at least the Archaic Period.
