While the world celebrates World Water Day under the slogan 'Joint Water - Joint Opportunities', the residents of Ezbet Khayrallah do not get a drop of water from their taps. They must buy water in jerry-cans.
Those people, who have been suffering from water shortages for more than 12 years, do not know of World Water Day, and do not understand talk about water being a driving force that unifies countries. All they know is that they have themselves expanded the public pipes just to get their needs for an hour and a half every 4 days, which forces them to buy contaminated water - as they put it - for LE 0.75 for a 20-liter jerry-can.
