Surprised not much people on this site are discussing this. Interesting how we're currently living in a critical moment in African history that may very well determine wether or not France's Neocolonialism scheme will survive this decade.
I'm very disappointed in Nigeria and the rest of ECOWAS siding with the French. It seems to this day Sub-Saharan Africans lack unity.

Russia could also get involved by way of their Wagner mercenaries, invited in by the Junta in Niger. If France, the U.S. and ECOWAS are put out, Niger will also have to contend with Boko Haram and Isis who operate in different parts of the country. These Islamic Jihadist groups are now more prominent in the Sahel than in the Middle East but if the Junta prevails that is their problem
