Depends. I know a couple like you living in Sinai, and they have no problem at all. I also know some Jewish families in Cairo that have no complaints. But there were three Israeli families living in my street in Cairo, they worked for the Israeli embassy, they were paranoiac, they had bodyguards around all the time, and I am pretty sure they carried guns. EVERYONE HATED THEM, even their driver, and when the clashes began again with the Palestinians people were visibly even more pissed off, so much so that they had to take a one month vacation to Israel and everyone thought good riddance. So the answer is if you are "visibly" Israeli people will not react well. Otherwise if you are just an American Jew like the ones that pepper Maadi, then no problem.
You may, however, have big problems with his family. They have to be extra super duper cool to take it well, it's possible but unlikely I am sorry to say.
