got a possibly very stupid question. what is meant by the phrase... "valid for Egyptians and Foreign Residents only"
wouldn't that be, like, for everybody? like...you are either egyptian, or you are a foreigner?

It means that such rates don't apply to tourists coming from out of Egypt,as these have a different arrangement with their tourist agents.

I think they mean expats who live in egypt. So a tourist flying and and trying to book this package would not get it.

What documentation would folks need to show to indicate they are ex pats as I knwo folks who dont have residency permits and dont work. They are retired.

hello... sorry i was away for some time.. our Company owner had a bad car accident..and we were all busy with that situation...barely had enough time to do our office work..
thank you Dzosser & Malak for helping me answering the question...it is exactly what it meant..Foreign residents are Foreigners who live in Egypt and have a Valid residency .from 1 upto 5 years .
* cheekyferret : all you need to have is a Valid residency in Egypt , not a tourist Visa..that can be for a Year upto 5 years , that will be enough to grant you so many rights as a residence..Egyptians and foreign residents have a discount in Hotels and resorts , reaching 50% from announced rate .
this has nothing to do with work permit , all you need is to have a residency based on your accommodation was it rental or private ownership . you can easily get a residency in Egypt if you can apply to Immigration police in Tahrir Mogammaa Building /second floor. and we can help you doing that too if you want . please check our website to know what kind of services we offer to foreign residents . check this link : http://www.skyline-group.com/General%20services.htm

Does a "temporary residence for touristic purposes" valid for 1 year count as foreigner resident?
if not,
does a "temporary residence for non-touristic purposes" valid for 1 year count as foreigner resident?
I own my property but its not yet registered as the development has not yet been formally handed over to the Governate, but I have an electricity meter and phone in my own name! Is it possible to get some kind of residency permit other than the one year ones?
I'm not married to an Egyptian (or anyone )
