Mona Zaki Causes a Commotion in Al-Haram Street Mona Zaki
Mona Zaki has caused a traffic chaos in Al-Maryouteya district in Al-Haram, after that dozens of people gathered around the area as she was shooting some scenes of her movie “Ehki Ya Shahrazade” in desperate attempts to get a closer look at her, and photograph her with their phone cameras, until the film crew succeeded in pushing them away, after generating a state of chaos that caused the filming to stop more than once.
Mona Zaki was not the only reason that chaos in the street, but a scene of a store blowing up director urged the director Youssry Nasrallah to call for the help of members of the Giza police forces to vacate the place and control the passers; this has disrupted traffic for several hours.
To shoot this scene, an exact model of a paint store was built in Al-Maryouteya in order for the explosion scene to be so realistic. Special equipments were used to blow up the model, and a stunt woman was replacing Mona Zaki.
“Ehki Ya Shahrazade” tries to shed the light on women issues in the oriental societies, and the Egyptian society’s view of the woman in general, and to highlight the social injustice and oppression that women are subjected to by men, by depicting the story of a TV presenter who suffers from the injustice and the great pressure of her husband, but forced to put up with her life with him for fear of becoming a “divorcee”.
The movie is written by Wahid Hamed, and stars -alongside Mona Zaki- Mahmoud Hemeida, Sawsan Badr, Hassan Al-Raddad, and Nesrine Imam.
