What is the verdict on the cover story in this month (Feb) issue of National Geographic, "The Black Pharaohs" ?
I just bought a couple of issues one for myself & nephew who is 11 years of age, one for my local libary.I know many on this forum will object to the word "Black" as well as I i did, but I'm glad they did this issue during Black History Month; for so many people Black, White, etc. know nothing of the ancient history of Kush.I did not see any glaring distortions or inaccurate information, except for saying Queen Tiye could have had some Nubian blood, & the reason her famous bust is so dark,is do to the wood aging LOL !
Their were a couple of other things I picked out, but over all the journalist Robert Draper whos is not an ancient historian, did a fairly balanced article for the general reader. I hope it peeks people's (esp). young people's interest to want to know more about ancient Kush & her relationship with her duaghter Egypt !
Also, it helps Black History Month brake out of the confines of just African American history & into a more embracing World African Diaspora History!

If it's not black it must be white. This is the U.S mentality, and this is what attributing blackness to only the Nubian invasion will tell the masses.
