^ I've read a study some months ago that shows the Asiatic horse which the Egyptians adopted to be closely related to the Arabian breed and that both the Arabian as well as the Anatolian breed share a common Southwest Asian ancestry. The Egyptians adopted the horse from the Hyksos who in turn adopted it from other groups living in northern Syria, Babylon, and Iran. Many scholars think these horses were domesticated by Indo-European speakers from either north of the Caucasus or Central Asia or both.
