I have a question regarding personalized medicine field. The use of ancient DNA research is often used in personalized medicine. My question to you all is. Is this another "made up" term to generate money, as we have seen in GWAS?

Welcome back Arwa! To answer your question NO. 'Personalized medicine' is the name for medical treatment on an individual patient basis. Instead of applying treatments on a patient based on statistical studies, the treatment is catered specifically on that patient's physiology, medical history, and yes genetics. Genetics is just one very important part of it. Really personal medicine was once the standard in patient care long time ago but was replaced by a one-size fits all standard put on by large organizations like the AMA (American Medical Association) as well as now Big Pharma. Patients tend to get treated as a statistic instead of an individual person with individualized needs. Don't get me wrong, statistics are important when it comes to assessing treatment plans but so too is individual based care.
If only people can get their genomes assessed by private medical firms and keep it between the individual and that person's doctor and/or geneticist. Instead we have these large genomic databases that can be accessed by almost anyone including 3rd party entities.
