I have spent ten glorious minutes eating blackberries beside the road, near my house. There is a little wilderness, unheard of in a city, where there are also wild plum trees which bear fruit in some years; little sweet yellow or red plums. I have a cutting in my garden, two meter tall and have eaten some plums, but its a very fickle tree. If the weather is not just so, it will have flowers, but no fruit.

They freeze brilliantly. Had apple and blackberry crumble for puds tonight, with custard, of course. Mmmmm.
