I hope the Malian rebuild the library of Timbuktu that was destroyed by the fanatic Al Qaeda terrorist. Hopefully the West will allow the Malian to publish their ancient history book.

I have a question for all you brothas Why are our people in the USA our so called negro scholars why haven't they gone over there and had these 700,000 manuscripts trasnslated these scripts are written in HEBREW and can shed light on who we are over here. Why have these so called scholars been shuffling their feet over this. Remember Britain went over their in the 18th century ever since then no one has been their at all its been over looked.

You know what...I actually agree with this. How come African Americans are not doing any funding to know about their history. I mean AA's are descendants of these West Africans.

Timbuktu Manuscripts (Wiki)
Timbuktu Manuscripts or (Tombouctou Manuscripts) is a blanket term for the large number of historically important manuscripts that have been preserved for centuries in private households in Timbuktu, Mali. The collections include manuscripts about art, medicine, philosophy, and science of the late Abbasid Caliphate, as well as priceless copies of the Quran. The number of manuscripts in the collections has been estimated as high as 700,000.
The majority of manuscripts were written in Arabic, but some were also in local languages, including Songhay and Tamasheq. The dates of the manuscripts ranged between the late 13th and the early 20th centuries (i.e., from the Islamisation of the Mali Empire until the decline of traditional education in French Sudan). Their subject matter ranged from scholarly works to short letters. The manuscripts were passed down in Timbuktu families and were mostly in poor condition. Most of the manuscripts remain unstudied and uncatalogued, and their total number is unknown, amenable only to rough estimates. A selection of about 160 manuscripts from the Mamma Haidara Library in Timbuktu and the Ahmed Baba collection were digitized by the Tombouctou Manuscripts Project in the 2000s.
With the demise of Arabic education in Mali under French colonial rule, appreciation for the medieval manuscripts declined in Timbuktu, and many were being sold off. Time magazine related the account of an imam who picked up four of them for $50 each. In October 2008 one of the households was flooded, destroying 700 manuscripts.

Truthhitman is right why don't rich black people in the USA, EU and Africa sponsors black scholars to live in Mali to study and help translate the 700,000 ancient books of Timbuktu.
IM very interested about the Ancient history books of Timbuktu that nobody talk about. Ancient people wrote about their ancient Kings, Queens and Kingdoms. Ancient diplomats, merchants and scholars wrote about the world kingdoms. Only the religious, scientific and literature books are mention in the media.

Not completely accurate. The manuscripts were ofetn written in Ajami script which is not exactly bona fide Arabic. Like writing in Russian and English. The alphabets differ quite a bit.
