OK, I'll ask. Still can't figure this out.
The Cairo-Giza area? Is it part of the Sahara desert, or the Eastern desert, or the Libyan desert??? Or are the other 2 part of the Sahara??? I'm sure to find the answer here, or lots of different ones.

Cairo and Giza are on green land just at the point the Nile starts branching out into the Delta. If you walk West from Giza you'll get to the Libyan then Saharan deserts. If you walk East from Cairo you'll get to the Eastern Desert (or northernmost point thereof)

The Cairo-Giza area is not the same as the Giza plateau where the pyramids are. There is a neighborhood of Cairo called Giza, which is not in a desert.

Ohhhh......Those pictures of the pyramids always look like they are sitting in a great desert.

LOL - Next Saturday you'll see. We will get out where all you see is desert, but up on the next dune, you'll see the city.

Greater Cairo (Cairo, Giza and Qalyubia) is not geographically located as part of any desert, but rather originally surrounding the lavish green intersection to the Nile’s two branches.
Cairo governorate is located on the east side of the Nile (including Nile islands), while Giza occupies the west bank of the Nile.
So Giza is much associated with the desert pyramids plateau, the governorate is indeed big and contains several villages and towns, mostly in the Nile valley region.
