Hi, I’m a 33 year old Malaysian lady who is currently in Cairo for a few months to study Arabic. I’ve only been here a week and am still getting used to the crazy traffic! So far I’ve made a few friends from my school. Although they are nice, we have little in common so sometimes it’s not that fun going out with them. I’d like to make more friends while I’m here. I know it's asking a lot...but I'm kind of looking for friends with a positive attitude, who won’t keep harping on about veils (and how they suppress women or how so many veiled women practise double standards) and who won’t go on and on about how good my English is just because I’m a born and bred Asian! )
Basically I am looking for friends who I can learn more about Egypt with, someone I can practice my colloquial Arabic, someone to watch movies with etc … you know … normal things that decent human beings would do in their free time! I enjoy traveling, reading, cooking, watching movies/plays and photography. I’ve worked as a humanitarian aid worker for 2-3 years now so if you are one too, all the much better! Both (decent!) men and women friends are welcomed.
