Twin centre holidays with sister properties in Cairo and Sharm El Sheikh will be the marketing focus of the Four Seasons Alexandria in the run up to its Q1 2007 opening. The latest addition to the Four Seasons Egypt portfolio is currently under construction on the Alexandria Corniche, and with the general manager, Stephan Killinger, now on board, the countdown will begin for welcoming guests early next year.
“We have a big strength in our other three hotels in Egypt and will be pushing twin centre holidays, as well as tapping into the MICE market coming out of Cairo,” Killinger said.
Alexandria is the second largest city in the country, with five million residents, so Killinger is also looking to the local meetings market as a sustainable source of business, although twin centre holidays will make up the bulk of guests in the summer seasons.
“Cairo has the pyramids. Alexandria is different. There are treasures here: catacombs, Pompei’s pillar. There are things to see, but not at the level of the pyramids, so we need to create packages,” Killinger explained.
In addition to its leisure and MICE links with Egypt’s capital city, Killinger is also hoping that, with a ballroom capable of holding 1000 pax, the hotel can also achieve great weddings business too.
“At the moment, families have no choice but to go to Cairo for big events. We want to be part of the local community; a social centre,” he remarked.
