After reading here through one of the topics I ask myself the following question:

How does a woman look the most attractive to an Egyptian man? Do Egyptian males are going all for the same type of woman? Or is it depending only on personal preferences?

Hm, I am eager awaiting your responses, especially from the Gentlemen.

well i opened a thread about "standards of beauty," and i wrote about the egyptian definition of beauty. is that what you mean?

Posted by _ (Member # 3567) on :

Hi, I just looked up your mentioned thread, I didn't really come to the conclusion of what Egyptian men prefer because all the replies came more or less from women themselves.

I am asking the male Egyptian league here on ES "How do you picture your perfect woman?"

Dear ,
I'm an egyptian male 34
look most of us like an easygoing girls as a culture wise this is v important
some like her smart ,pretty(attractive),polite(moral),religion.
having a good sense of humor, knowing how to deal with her man, having the ability of listening and talking.
For me I like her a superwoman....LOL
Life is not easy living,It needs some one to share,to support,to love....

Medo, thanks for your response.

Please be more specific, what you mean by pretty and attractive? How should your "Superwoman" look like?

And more importantly, Medo what do you have to offer.

No not pat, simplistic answers everyman comes up with. Possibly knowing what you have to truly offer a possible spouse will give you a better idea of what you need.

Not some mass produced requirements list.

she did die four years ago. it was very sad you should have seen the funeral it was like all of egypt was there! she fell or (jumped) from her balcony in london, and because of that, many people believe that she commited suicide. also her circumstances at the time were very bad. she was very sick, had lost her hair, gained an incredible amount of weight. further the egyptian media were writing horrible articles about how she is begging in london, which ofcourse really hit her pride and pushed her into a depression. she was schedueled to return to egypt a few weeks after her death. so her passing away shocked many. soad hosny had said before her death that she will write her biography which probably scared many people because during the 60s the egyptian (mukhabrat) often used actresses to sleep with politicians to get information. i do not mean to imply that she was one of those, but its just a romor that this could have been a motive for murder. anyway we all miss her, i hope inshallah she is in a better place.

Here is my story. It was 1978 when presidents Sadat & Carter were meeting in Cairo for their peace talks. I was then 7 years old, but my parents have been telling me about politics. I was so in love with Sadat because he was bringing peace to the world. He was my hero that I would have loved to meet.
A representative of the presidential office came to our school to ask if they could get a boy & a girl to be flower bearers & would present them to the two presidents. They chose me because I was the best of the school, spoke fluent English and knew a lot for my age. I put my mother through hell to get me a little white dress for the occasion. I couldn't sleep the night before I was scheduled to go. The next day I went to school with my white dress on, went to the principal's room, and just as I was at the door, I saw a blonde girl with a white dress on, standing there with a self-assured smile, and I overheard two teachers talking to each other: "We'll take her, she's so beautiful, much nicer looking than the other dark girl".... They were shocked to see me there, but I managed to hold my tears.. until now..

Gotta go & eat koshary

Oh boy, if I was in your position my first reaction would be to bite someone's shins.

I'd go for that woman who rejected you because you are dark. Yup, I can hear her scream now!

Primak, you are so so so naughty!!!!!!!!

Now I have specific question. What about the blonde hair? Is it really a turn-on for Egy men? And it doesn't matter if its even fake? I know that you guys like women with long dark hair, fair skin, big or almondshaped eyes and some figure, correct?

Yes exactly ,i'm sorry. Look, most of man like blond hair women. It's typical, but for me the more attracive women is with dark hair, eyes , and skin. This is women, not some blond one! In Poland u can see everywhere blond girls, everywhere! it's little boring. And u know what, we have in Poland even jokes abaut blond hairs girls, yes. Because the stereotyp of blond women is that they are little stupid. Maybe it's sounds strange, but it's europinian suggestion. But by the way, i don't have nothing to blonds, i like them!

that is not true in america
men here like both
we pretty much love all women equally
(generally)

That is a good thing about America. I think we've gotten away from *one* perfect female standard of beauty.

And perhaps we just find attractive what is more rare in our own society? When I was in Egypt, I thought the women with darker skin and darker hair were more attractive. When I saw Egyptian women on TV who had died their hair blonde (these were movies from 60s and 70s) they didn't look as attractive as I knew they could be.

I know the original question here was asking for male opinions, but I just have to say I think most people in general are attractive. Period. And makeup and stuff is cool for women if it *enhances* our natural looks, not *changes* them.

Posted by 1mangang (Member # 6403) on :

yea good point
that is why we accept womens beauty MORE equally here maybe because there is such a wide variety of looks here. any color woman with any color hair, mixed women, tall, short, shapely, thin, it is all here and I agree with you, after a point you see all women are really beautiful, if a man wants to narrow himself down to one type of woman, he should probably marry that type and be done with it. beauty is beauty nationality need not matter.

Well I cant speak about what ALL Egyptian men like but I can say in my case I certainly wouldnt compare myself to Barbie. Im American but from Spanish and Mexican descent. I have long dark hair, light brown eyes, medium skin color, shorter than average and a curvy figure, and my husband thinks Im beautiful! He says one thing he liked about me from the first time he saw me is I look like arabic lady not westerner.

So for me... I have a good Egyptian man and I dont look like Barbie, and Im perfectly happy on both counts.

how come the most beautiful woman in the world is the actress from India? She has dark hair ...

What makes someone attractive is if they are kind, self confident and have a great sense of humor ...Looks are only skin deep, what matters is what is in someone's heart.

It's "halawa" and it refers to a paste made of sugar and lemon juice that is traditionally used in the Middle East to remove unwanted body hair.

Top ten ways to be attractive to an Egyptain man you meet online......

10. Give big long emotional exhortations about how the rest of the world can see how bad things are for some people.

9. Tell him how much you love Egypt and always dreamed of going there.

8. Tell him that you always wanted to have a housefull of kids.

7. You are a new Muslim and you learned about Islam online in Yahoo Islam Chat.

6. You dont speak arabic yet but you are trying to learn.( Arabic 101 - Inshallah a) God Willing b)Whatever ( most frequent meaning))

5. Tell him all about the history you have of men using you and being left the victim.

4. Start downloading lots of arabic music and looking for hijabs and things in ebay so you can show him how "arabic" you are becoming. ( hello, if he wanted and egyptian woman he wouldnt be talking to you)

3. Change your belief system and really begin to consider throwing it all away for someone you never met.

2. Sit online and wait for him for hours, he will really appreciate it, and mail him lots of things too like shirts and nike shoes.

1. Be Female and from anywhere but the continent of Africa.

Best of Luck,
Fajr

To our agony yes we use it on the bikini area, actually on the hole carpet
if you like. Yes Egyptian men want their women to have a Brazililian, while they can run around with their stinky pubic rainforests untroubled.
Don't worry, you get used to it. After about 500 uses the pain becomes bearable.

Hi, Fajr, welcome to ES. Thanks for publishing the guidelines here of how to catch a great Egyptian guy.

But Point 5 I sincerely need to correct:

The best thing is not to mention anything about other men. Confess to maximal one relationship as a woman since you don't want to come around as "easy", so mention hardly experience with the male species.

Thats always the best way and don't forget deep inside every Egyptian man wants to have a "virgin" to make his wife.

And if you still are - thats even better!!!!

Oh good God don't you know?

Hmm, okay why hasn't anyone bothered to explain this to her?

I mean honey, you every wonder why the men scratch down there so much? I mean it isn't just heat rash.

And from what I understand its required.

I still can't force myself to remove it all every 40 days. Oww.

Chatting to my beautician the other day she told me she was going on an advanced waxing course. Naturally I asked what was advanced waxing, well it was to learn how to do Brazillian and Hollywood waxing as there is so much demand for it now. Poor girl has got to go with another friend so they can learn on each other. I understand the Brazillian does not removed everything but the Hollywood does.
Catlover if your man is a Muslim then it will be the Hollywood that you need.

We laughed about this all on a thread before and came to the conclusion that there was not a man alive that was man enough for this waxing as yes for sure they have to remove all hair in the pubic area as well. I think the men either shave or use creams to remove the hair.

Boss ya man, I had this friend who hated a girl and she hated him to death. They made jokes of each other and said all kind of bad words. Today they are married with young little boy.

Give it a chance, you never know what the future hides for you both

Wallahy mish asde gawaz, enta 3ayez twadeny fe dahya wala eh! I would never suggest marriage but sometimes some hated relations turn different way, be that marriage or friendship or even adoption, only God knows.

But really, Sono is not that lethal, she talks much but look she didn't claw her husband..............until now

Now physical consequences are not effective on me neither him. I have found other ways of making him miserable, only after watching the effects of his efforts to make my life hell.

And diab is still a child, at least a decade younger than me. If I can't handle watching a man my age grow up, what makes it possible for me to endure the unnatural act of a boy diabs age facing the 'facts of life'?

I really don't have the patience anymore.

I read somewhere there's no sex education in Egypt - how does one raise the subject of 'the wrong time of the month' - is there a correct way to do it? How do Egyptians refer to it?

About Brazilian bikini wax removes everything from the belly button, all the way to the small of your back, and takes a couple hours.

Hi catlover!

Just to add to what the others said, yes, it is a “religious thing” to remove hair. All Muslim women and men should cut their nails, remove the hair from their pubic region and under arm at least every forty days and man should also shave their moustaches (as growing a beard and moustache is a religious thing too).

It is also a religious thing to remain a virgin until after marriage, as it is also not to be alone in private or touch with any one of the opposite sex who you are not closely related to by blood or marriage. Muslim men are generally well aware about the menstrual cycle as they know that it is forbidden for them to have intercourse with their wives at that time and that Muslim women don’t pray then, so it is referred to as “being on holiday” i.e. from prayer, but many men would be shy to discuss the details due to cultural reasons. The men prepare themselves for marriage by asking other men a lot of questions and the rest happens by instinct, as it has done since the beginning of time. The human race managed to procreate long before western porn!

Hi all!
In India the new "hair removal thingy" is the laser hair reduction!! Anyone hear about it?? It's supposed to be pain free and really effective...However what they dont tell you is that you need to go get the area done 6-8 times before the hair is gone "forever" and here, just getting both arms done is Rs.7000 (about USD$160) and thats each time you go!! I had a patch test done and it is painless, but not wanting to pay all that and go so many times!!Is this done in Egypt?? Just curious!!
Caio!

no i don't think so. yes a woman should be hairless, but no one specified the pubic area except if you are going to do a umra or hajj. as for the men i never ever heard of anything that says that pubic hair should be removed.

OK ladies - I did it - what about the terrible zits that result? Do we have a magic and quick solution for those? My sister used to do this for a pervy boyfriend apparently - she says they go if you keep doing it.
God willing I don't get run over by a bus in the next couple of weeks.... I hope my mother never sees me like this

ROFL...

It's not fair that no one warned you in advance!

It helps to wipe the area with alcohol before & after use, then wash it quickly with running cold water.

Indeed, you have to do it several times before they cease to appear..

Sorry I was laughing..

LOL LOL Welcome to the club catlover!! I know it is strange at first but I bet after a while you will never want to go back the other way.
It's a bit like the Egyptian toilets, you know the ones with the jet washes! once you get used to them you never want to use paper again. I am seriously thinking of trying to get my UK one's changed. So does anyone in the UK know where you can get one??

I wouldn't replace the whole toilet, why don't you get some of those water hoses that are being installed beside the toilet? You mostly see them in private homes and they are nicer and easier to use than the thing inside of the toilet anyway. All you would need to do in the UK is have a plumber come and install it.

My sister lives in California & managed to find herself an Egyptian plumber to do the "jet wash" for her.. "jet wash", sounds so chic haha!

Hi,

In the UK there is something called the "muslim directory" it is availible in most mosques and islamic book shop.

Then check in the "classified" section, there are many companies that will install it for you.

Until you can't get a hose or a "jet spray," the best thing I have found to use in countries that don't have them is an indoor plant watering can...the long spout is just perfect for reaching those unreachable spots!

I know I have you beat hands down on 'facts of life' as well. I can guarantee it.

Adversity is something I understand will be there untill I reach a certain amount of professional and financial success.

I don't want to get into specifics but I know you haven't face the turmoil and difficulties that I have. Most of it when I was younger, born out of choices I didn't have the right to make.

So don't go there, I know you won't be able to match my list of denegrating circumstances, most people can't.

And most of it is humiliating and unusual.

And what you don't understand is the adversity I endured was carefully sorted and arranged. Meant to keep the family's reputation intact while devouring mine. A permenant mark on you that everyone from your socail class can see and avoid like lepracy.

It takes a special kind of parent, community and arrogance to create such a tactic/crutch. Its meant to keep the others inline and continue the status quo.

Techniques so no one can take responsibility for and a senstive person with unique pinchent for 'right and wrong' will cave into. It takes talent to be a WASP, the kind of wicked evil tendancy to emaciate, crush and strangle whatever life is in a youth.

And besides you are a student in Cairo, meaning you are younger than 24. And no student in Egypt is allowed to work, let alone live in a place of their own.

Survival skills, how many people in Cairo who are your age, a college student, with daily access to a computer really knows what struggle means?

I am not so naive in this respect. I have read sociological/anthropological reports on the current state of poverty in Cairo. And you have never experienced it.

Probably never will.

But in your eyes, like many other young men in Egypt, a westerner like myself has to have every advantage and opportunity that you yourself would not.

I can't tell you how wrong you are in your fatalism.

who said that? actually the majority of students in egypt can't afford to get through university withouth working at least part time. further, many come from other governorate and so rent or share apartments with other students.
