I'm average for Egyptian ( for man in general for that matter) and I'm 5-9.....but why is that question...?

Posted by Snoozin (Member # 6244) on :

Just curious. Most middle eastern and north african men I see here are fairly short. But Egyptian men seemed taller. Egyptian women still seemed somewhat shorter to me as well.

Wow.

Snoozin did not ask for length [Wink]

Posted by ~Sharon Stone~ (Member # 5169) on :

Someone should run the poll.
Please include all sizes.
[Big Grin] - medium ( it's ok, I am happy, she is VERY happy)
[Eek!] - large ( it's "oh my God", it's wonderful, irresistable )
[Frown] - small ( well, it's not ok but I am technican. )

Or you can do in numbers, whatever you want. [Big Grin]
Volunteers who gave height should go first.

Wow.

Correct!

They're so tall and have no idea what to do with all this body length!

Tall Dutchmen move in space like idiots. If you compare their body language to other Western Europeans you will be totally turned off by it.

I have some students who are 2 meters plus (so almost 7 foot-tall).

Most Somali men are over 6ft tall. My daddy is 6ft3 and my brother is 6ft4. Unfortunately though, I'm only 5ft8 [Frown] I so could have been a model if I were taller, and a non-muslim. But thank God I AM a muslim.

Cheffie (Egyptian) is about 184cm, and I'm 177cm (English). In Egypt I thought the range of heights was greater than England (I saw more really short men, about 160cm, but I also saw more taller men) so I guess the average is about the same, 173-175cm - most men in England are shorter than me (despite the fact a lot of them claim to be 182cm - they aren't!)

Actually, MaliG is correct about Somalis and they tend to be very tall and slim people. Another tall people are Nilotic people in Southern Sudan. Most are generally very tall with a very slim frame. You might remeber the basketball player Manute Bol was a Nilotic person from Southern Sudan.

Here is some information:

Although persons of Nilotic tribes in southern Sudan are among the tallest in the world, this genetic characteristic should not substantially influence WFH (in contrast to height-for-age).

http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/00020363.htm

However, you also have to taken into consideration that height is many times influenced by nutrition. Height can change in various populations so it should be be used soley as an ethnic marker.

This an interesting topic. When I left Egypt, I was probably around 6'6 (~167cm). I came back three years later at 6'2 (~189cm) and my friends were blown away. They thought it was because of the American beef or something [Big Grin]

Do guys think were not utilzing our full genetic capability in Egypt? [Wink]

Sometimes, whem i'm in a room with men with average height i'm a little bit embarrassed (for them not for me), but they don't give a s**t about that. They simply love tall women!

Karla heres a qoute from "the Alchemist" to you:

"We are afraid of loosing what we have, whether it’s our life or our possessions and property. But this fear evaporates when we understand that our life stories and the history of the world were written by the same hand."

[Smile]

Posted by karla (Member # 5472) on :

Yes...about surrender [Smile]
But the question is: Is good to keep our fear or should this fear evaporates?

Posted by Sadeeqy (Member # 9759) on :

You must never be affraid! Your life, possessions, properties were lended to you by God. Enjoy your life, use your stuff and fear only God!

Posted by -Seren- (Member # 7211) on :

Karla I am having a tough time wondering about that too.
But its better without fear. Trust in God. He gave you air in your lounges and a beating heart.
Fear destroys you, until you can no longer find the pleasure in life.
Dont let it suck away all your energy and let you not able to love or breath.
Fear is a parasitte that we let into our life and take over it.
Let your trust be in God. and not in what tomorrow brings.

Indeed "fear only God!" is the right way. In this way should be our life...but you believe that the people easily accept to lose the life, possessions, properties?

Posted by Sadeeqy (Member # 9759) on :

No, they don't accept that easily! They feel that they are justified to do anything they want to fulfill their urges. Everything for the body and the brain, nothing for the soul! But i'll keep asking myself, when they are in sorrow, what do they need mostly, their properties or the grace of God?

Seren in that concerns myself I can say that I am afraid only of God. My question was for the world in generally [Smile]

Yes, when they are in sorrow they need mostly the grace of God but when trouble go on they forget the God.

You know something I have never understood and I was absolutely thunder how come that a person which goes at church for praying to God for a thing, can does, when goes out of the church, starts to think badly or make bad things. [Confused]

Posted by Sadeeqy (Member # 9759) on :

Well, Karla, i'll tell you my point of view, not necessarily the best!
Some of them are really christians, even if they don't come to church. Others go to church to they can relief their constience, not their soul.
If a person think that a quick prayer absolve all the sins.....wrong!
God is mercyful, but his forgiveness is not endless. People are oftenly indistinct between remorse and repentance. You must really ask for forgiveness and try not to repeat the same mistakes.
Otherwise, it's mockery!
