There are *loads* in London - in fact, I have a menu for a Halal chinese in Streatham on my desk right now!

There's a fantastic Egyptian restaurant at the Marble Arch end of Edgware Road. Pretty much every place to eat in that immediate area of London uses Halal meat. There's a brilliant persian place nearby too. If you want exact names and addresses, let me know!

The Egyptian one is called Miramar, I think? We're going there at the weekend, so I can check for you. It's definitely an M word, but there are so many down there, I forget! We ate in this for the first day of Eid, last month, and the food was spectacular. We had lamb, moussaqa, molokhiya, assorted mahshy, rice, salads, and gorgeous bread. Inside it's quite authentically decorated and there's a huge TV which shows Arabic music and sport channels.

They also even do Koshari [Wink]

There are several Lebanese places nearby too, Maroush is good
Have you been to Edgware Road before? It's full of coffeeshops/shisha bars, and Arabic supermarkets, so it's a bit of a lifeline for us when my husband is having a homesick patch.

The Persian restaurant is called Colbeh - here's a review (can't find an actual web site for the restaurant, sorry, but it's definitely worth a visit) http://www.guardian.co.uk/weekend/story/0,,782368,00.html

Nearest underground is Marble Arch [Smile]
