[/qb][/QUOTE]Sumerian is one of those languages that are claimed by many different linguists - sometimes using the most bizarre rationale imaginable. There is one Eurocentric pseudo-linguist who tries to claim Sumerian is Nordic and related to Finnish. He then tries to deny that Sumerians referred to themselves as Blacks - by finding a feintly similar Finnish word for *north*, replacing the meaning Black in Sumerian with *north* in Finnish, and then arguing that Sumerians are ancient Nordes. :) It's one of the more desparate/hilarious exibitions you will see of how pseudos can invent a rationale for vitually any argument, no matter how illogical, or prepostrous. The lesson? Beware pseudo-linguistics. They can easily exploit the fact that *all* languages have some similarities, by selectively cherry-picking examples needed to relate - or disclaim relation- of any two langages they choose.
