Descendents of the common class were called Plebians, later settlers. I believe these later settlers fit the profile for incoming Germanic-related tribes that also poured into Italy in the late centuries of the BC.

The Senate was the most powerful body.

There were the assemblies of the Co-m-‘tia, a word meaning “going together. The committees were of three kinds:

1. The Curi-a-‘tia, of which only the patricians could be members – the elders, the founders.
2. The Cen-tu-ri-a-‘ta, which was composed of both patricians and plebians.
3. The Tri-bu’ta, the members which were plebians.

We see that it appears that the line of Phoenicians/ Canaanites / Africans, were the first and early power.

Then things get interesting. While whites are often described as having long, flowing hair, African hair when unfashioned is like a ball or bush. Now, cae-sa’-ri-es is the Latin word for bush of hair; and the surname Caesar is said to have been given to a member of the Julian family who was born with a great quantity of hair; born with cae-sa’-ri-es – a bush of hair.

Now, whites are often described as having thin lips there is enough written about Caesar to know he was white: fair complexion, and so on. But, he is described in this 1898 book as having “full lips.” Whites have thin lips, Africans full lips.

CONCLUSIONS: We arrive at the fact that Roman goveranance was similar to African; the ruling body is made of elders, the patricians; the relatively powerless newcomers were plebians. The family from which Julius Caesar arose was the Caesars, a surname meaning bush of hair. And he himself had full lips.

QUESTION: Does anyone know untold information about Caesar that might point to him arising from a partly African ancestry? Note his hair is curly and when you mix the races, it’s curly hair you get. Today most Italians have completely straight hair.

Might Julius Caesar have had African ancestry as well?

Does anyone have picture of Caesar from his lifetime showing him with more African features than the popular pictures we always come across?

I left off the first part of the post:

____________________________

In an 1898 book on Julius Caesar, at a time the world was less race conscious, I came across several things that have led me to wonder about his ethnicity. To begin with, we know Europe was settled by Phoenicians, the name given to Canaanite traders – Canaanites, the children of Ham; Africans.

Secondly historians rather cloud the founding of Rome saying “We have no reliable knowledge about the early history … we don’t know for a certainty by whom it was built of first settled.” In fact, we do know, as mentioned, that Rome was likely named and settled by Phoenicians.

An African tribe has a king and is ruled by elders who will bring their seats and meet outdoors or (as we saw in Liberia when I was there as a child) in a meeting, or palava house.

Roman governance bears similarities to African tribal governance. History tells us Rome was founded in 753 and ruled by kings. There was also a Senate appointed by the king who served for life chosen from the elderly men of the oldest families. The name Senate, is derived from senex, the Latin word for old.

The heads of the old families were called Patricians, from pater, Latin for father. They were descendants of the first settlers.

Descendants of the common class were called Plebians, later settlers. I believe these later settlers fit the profile for incoming Germanic-related tribes that also poured into Italy in the late centuries of the BC.

Here, by the way, is a picture of the meeting of the tribal elders. Interesting that our own US Senate is a word meaning “old men”, "elders," in Latin.

What an irony if it had African roots as facts might eventually prove to be the case. In the days of the first Senate near 800 BC when the various tribes had their collective elder’s assembly, I wouldn’t doubt that it resembled the scene below where each elder brought his own chair for their meeting to address tribal affairs.

Marc - I don't know if Julius was mixed, but many Roman kings were mixed-race.

Caracalla was of "mixed race" (Phoenician/Roman) ancestry.

Interesting pictures of the early emperors you posted.

Here is a picture of the Roman Emperor, Galerius, 305 - 311 AD

It seems the above picture three messages earlier, of the elders meeting in the open, and maybe it was a market place, too, is identical to the way the elders, the Senate, met in Rome prior to the Republic.

Here is what it says about the committee:

The comitia held their meetings in a place called the Fo'rum. This was a large open space in the city, which was also used as a market.

Here's that picture again:

Here is some more history on the evolution of Rome from the days before the Republic, to the Republic and finally empire under Caesar.

The dynamic was, as mentioned, that the Comitia was formed by the oldest members of the oldest founding families.

The Tri-bu'ta formed from the newly immigrant class of migrants who had no land and no homes. These were from the common people, the plebeians.

The Senate and all the power to make laws, the Tri0bu'ta none.

What would we expect would happen if the new immigrants hired into the army grew in number over the centuries? With no land, no homes, they'd be expected to exert their power over the Senate. Come to equal their power. And finally come to wield more power than they.

This is what happened in reality. This, I believe, MAY HAVE BEEN the dynamic that changed Rome from a (by phenotype) African nation-state to a white nation-state that bequeathed to us the Italy of today.

If these were Africans, it was they who gave us the words of governance still used today: Forum, Committee, Tribune, Plebeian, Senate, Consul.

Does anyone have examples of non-white or mixed portrayals of Caesar made during his lifetime?
