When the vast majority's ancestors are from Western and Central Africa?

Is there some sort of fear and embarrassment over celebrating their West African heritage and instead devoting 90% of their focus on Egypt or Morocco seemingly because they are closer and more related to influencing Europe and Asia?

I know some young people from W. Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, They are not obsessed with Egypt.

And these countries/tribal regions are where many of our ancestors are from.

Well to say that many AA have a "thing" for north Africa is clear when we see people like Mike111 who seems to cling to civilzations outside of Africa and often degrades Africans today and Africans in the past.

What we have is AA who go by what is deemed civil by the Europeans. Thats probably why so many AA speak on Ancient Egypt(Not a bad thing at all) They ignore really all the many Civilizations IN Africa because they were not on a grand scale like Egypt, Greece etc.

What we need to see is AA and it is Changing, where they discuss the regions of West Africa Like Great Ghana, Mali, moorish, and Songhai. The thing is though these places are muslim states so this may also push AA away from really getting deep into understanding how these people played a role in society.

What alot of African Americans may not know is that their is more civilizations in West Africa then in East. I remember Djehuti posting a map of Africas Civilzations like Kanem Borno etc.

It also has to do with how the Ignorant and racist euro elite tried to write Africa out of cultural inflouence in the World. Going so far as to claim a African Civilization as non-African(Egypt). So AA were trying to put history into it's proper place by showing that Egypt was in Fact indeginous to Africa and outsiders played a minimal role in its creation.

You have got to be out your ever loving mind to ask such a question. The whole world knows why AAs claim AE heritage. I mean, come on now, get real. The pathology of the Afrocentrist is quite obvious.

Is it not because Afrocentrists are ashamed that West and Central Africans contributed NOTHING to humanity? The only history those people have is spear-chuck "engineering" and mud-huts "architecture."

Faced with such an egregious reality would drive any uncivilized person to the brinks of insanity; which is to say -- Afrocentrism.

Whether AAs pay more attention to AE than elsewhere in Africa is something that cannot be really confirmed.

Note than whenever there is an exhibition of Egyptian art in the West the vast majority of people who attend are whites. Even when you control for population ratios[U.S. and Europe--where blacks are minorities] blacks show up at these events far less than their population percentages.

There are thousands of blacks in the U.S.[since the topic is about U.S. blacks] who could easily afford one of those package tours to Egypt, but again the American visitors to Egypt--as tourists--are white by a big majority. Even less show any interest in North Africa. When AAs visit Africa--the main places visited are South Africa(1), Ghana(2) and Senegal(3).

Now we have to realise too that Egypt was/is really a big thing with whites historically and has never ceased to fascinate them; more than Greece and much more than Iraq(Mesopotamia--supposedly--as they love to claim--the world's first civilisation).

Just check the literature: how many AAs and their African kin have written or studied the Egypto/Kush culture complex? Almost zero%.

How many professors of Egyptology in the U.S. are black. Again, almost zero%.

So let's conclude by saying that it's the whites who have been perennially obsessed with Ancient Egypt from the scholars all the way down to the Jews of Hollywood who have been responsible for all those films about Cleopatra--who was a late post-dynasty personality.

Now this obsession has an asterisk added to it: the obsession must be constantly cleansed of any attempt to depict the AEs as African/black. Hence, the blatant cognitive dissonance demonstrated by the chicanery over Tut's physiognomy and his DNA. Plus the ongoing attempt to Nefertiti in the image of that Berlin bust. And all those documentaries that play the AEs 2-3 shades lighter than they actually were.

Another thing that the whites are constantly bent on doing is to separate out North Africa from the rest of Africa. You can hardly hear on the radio or read in the media any reference to Africa except the racist and tendentious "sub-Saharan Africa". From scholars to journalists, it's the same mantra. The reason is almost instinctual: just to talk of Africa as a whole or to do so regionally(N,S, E, W) would be risky once you start talking of history, anthropology, genetics, etc. Better to establish the false barrier first, then to start talking.

Of course, this non-stop propaganda is effective: negroes start to parrot the same nonsense. Always their master's voice.

So the facts are as follows: AAs are much less concerned with Ancient Egypt than whites[and Japanese]. In fact, most(95%) have little interest in Africa--except when they meet a migrant Africa. Then the predictable "Wey you from"? Nigeria?

But one must admit that given the massive propaganda from the Western media most AAs and blacks of recent African background[people of African parentage] in the the U.S. and Europe hardly want to be associated with the continent. They just ignore it--not seek out information about Egypt.

Most AA don't even talk about Africa and are certainly ashamed to openly show Egyptian heritage. Its usually White people that I see dressed up as King Tut or something like that at costume parties. Blacks really don't believe it because they have been taught that they are inferior. Sure you have a few in blogs like this but for the most part Blacks don't believe in a Negro Egypt - at least not a West African Black Egypt.

All I said is that you don't think highly of Africans in Sub-Sahara. Was not meant to be disrespectful just what I gathered from all your posts.

As for the Ghetto, Why disrespect people who try to live a peaceful life in their neighbor hood. The Ghetto's in Canada is a wonderful mix of culture, Ethnicity, etc. You really don't have to leave the Area's to experience any part of the world. What the ghetto needs is more love and understanding. If they allowed more Jobs in the Ghetto's crime would go down, sadly though the Governments don't do much to help the people better themselves. Many freedom fighters were born in the Ghettos. Show some Love, not hate.

Hey arg, I found something a while back that I know will make you happy...

L3 clades with no defining restriction markers

Within Africa, paragroup L3 is found at its highest frequencies in East Africa, where it originated and gave rise to those mtDNAs that migrated out of Africa (Quintana-Murci et al., 1999; Maca-Meyer et al., 2001). Salas et al. (2002) described haplogroups L3f and L3g, both virtually restricted to East Africa except subclade L3f1, which is common in West Africa and thus not surprisingly the only subclade of L3f found in Puerto Rico. Similarly, L3* is far more common in East than in West Africa, but the C-to-A transversion at position 16256 that appeared in four of the five Puerto Rican L3* mtDNAs (Table 5) has appeared just once in the continent, among the West African Tuareg (Watson et al., 1997). It may thus represent the signature of a small West African clade. However, the presence of one L3g mtDNA in our sample strongly suggests that even some East Africans were victims of the slave trade.

Well because you've tried for years to show that east Africans were taken to the Americas as slaves by citing obscure historical quotes of some east Africans being smuggled to NYC, but now you have actual genetic evidence, that should make you happy.

This is interesting. What is your deal with so called "east" Africans?

I have presented historical evidence of many groups of people who were brought over as slaves. Why are you only fixated on the so called "east" Africans? Why not the Portuguese, Spanish, Greeks, Italians, Turks, Armenians, South Asians, Arabs, Iranians, southern Africans, etc.?

Why would I need "genetic" evidence to prove something that historical evidence already proves?

Historical evidence trumps some "genetic" fiction that someone who is "purportedly" in some lab conjuring up. If you believe otherwise, we'd all like to hear in an intelligent and coherent fashion, why.

How do you know those people are even performing the tests? Why would you trust someone whose work you have not seen? Do you have a science degree? If not, why are you believing something that you never went to school to understand?

You are always talking about all of the racism used to keep Egypt out of Africa, yet you sit here and deep throat everything these white scientists and other academics tell you.

Lol @ this dummy, the study stated east Africans so I immediately thought of you and your obsession with showing that people from all over Africa were taken to the Americas as slaves as opposed to only west and central Africans. Hey arg, after a further review of the same study you can also add the following instead of those one liner quotes...

The PC analysis of West Eurasian mtDNAs suggests that many of the West Eurasian women arriving to Puerto Rico were non-European in origin. The European populations cluster tightly, but the Puerto Rico population falls out of the European cluster, and is as close to it as to Moroccan cluster in the first plot, and closer to the Turkish-Armenian-Kurdish cluster in the second (Fig. 5). In addition, 11 of the 18 haplogroup U West Eurasian mtDNAs found in Puerto Rico are likely not of European origin.

right, and just like you said you could find some civilizations in inner africa at least on a grand scale like egypt, greece etc.
civilizations,like the mande,songhay,axum,nubia,the funj,Kanem Borno ,darfur etc,

while most civilizations in early africa were not not on a scale like them, like the forest kingdoms of africa, they were still important.

you had empires in africa that were larger then ancient egypt, cities just has large and more learning taking place on a larger scale then egypt or greece.
in fact you had buildings built in certain areas of africa that were just has large or larger
then the greek buildings, and arabs and europeans writing how highly civilized folks were in certain african kingdoms they traveled to.

even when there are new findings in nubia,or mande regions of africa it's mostly ignored, but every little new finding in egypt is in the news or on a special. once in a while you do have programs about other early african cultures, but that's once in a while,i mean in the west.

the bbc did a show about africa called lost kingdoms of africa, but they put in some out of date info or somethings that was incorrect, the host was black but he was talking about africa like he was really a british guy.

It'S GOING TO BE UP TO AFRICANS to show and tell a more balanced view.

the kingdoms on the show were, benin, nubia, ethiopia,
and great zimbabwe i think.
