Originally posted by the lioness: [qb] ^^^ the video: African Elites in India http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJLGBvjqzlY [/qb]
Although his book is interesting, his eurocentric context is very incorrect. He states in the video that Africans didn't rule over anyone else anywhere in history, well he is a liar, or stupid, not sure which. 1. Egypt ruled over much of the middle east and parts of turkiye. I have even read they extended even further than that. 2. Habasha/Aksum ruled over the middle east for at the very least 500 years and some say even longer. The Quran speaks of this time period in Surat Al Fil. 3. The first set of moors to rule Europe and take European slaves were Africans. The Arabs didn't come until 700 years after the fact. 4. We know Mesopotamia/Elam were Africans most likely kushitic from the language being spoken. Can refer to Rawlinsons' book "memoirs of cuneiform" to further understand what was going on at that time This guy is the prime example of what Dr. Obenga talked about. We can not trust these people to tell African history. They will tell it from their perspective, which is a very non factual perspective. Even in this video, when he first claims Africans came as traders etc. then he changes his tale to now magically they came as slaves and then some how miraculously became rulers and I call B.S. They word sidi means lord. You do not call a slave a lord! These people and their revisionist history is laughable. I just hope that one day, someone of the Diaspora or from the continent uses this as a stepping stone to further the truth of the matter. The same needs to be done with Moorish history as well. Someone who knows Spanish inside and out needs to do research on who the moors were and their origin and write their tale. It would also be a good idea to look at the enslavement of Europeans at that time. Will help those who do not know history well to understand, Africans took white and Arab slaves long before the African became a slave. Once you understand this narrative, what happens later in history will become more understandable. [/QB]
