Originally posted by Mike111: [QB] This is posted at Realhistoryww.com: it is a letter received by the administrator there from a person purporting to be a Kurd. Usually people writing in about their ethnic history are ignorant as hell, and simply spew the nonsense they were taught. The admin felt this one was well considered and worthy of discussion. Hello, I've read your account of history up to the first page or so of Ancient Elam/Persia. I am a Kurd and I take issue with your description of us. To begin with let me say that there were never any "Persians". It is a category made up by Western imperialists/colonialists/orienalists (mostly the British I think) to describe people ruled by the Turkish speaking rulers of "Pars" (Persia) like the Qajar kings. The Persian language (locally called Farsi or Parsi) was only a court language. Most people identified according to their tribe or place of birth. People started identifying as Persian in the Pahlavi Era (1921-1979), because the king (an illiterate Turkish soldier) institutionalized the Orientalist, European made-up bullshit Persian history (basically everything you debunk on your website) as state ideology. He renamed the former Persian Empire as "Iran" as homage to the Aryan ancestors he claimed he was descended from. The first people to adopt the Pahlavi king's Aryan myth were the social elite, Seljuk Turks that were formerly connected to the Qajar dynasty (which preceded Pahlavi) as well as various white (and non-white) merchants and clergy. So when you say "persians" in your history you are unfortunately actually referring to the white people that oppressed and continue to oppress the descendants of the black ancestors you identify as having living in the area that later became the Persian Empire. What happened to our black ancestors? Many of them were enslaved by the envading white turks. Contrary to the orientalist paintings you use to say that white women were enslaved and kept in the harem, the slave trade was almost exclusively in black (or "black") people. it is true they were enslaving men and women from the caucasus, but these people were usually rural farmers who had become dark from working in the sun. (btw, the uv rays in the caucasus are pretty strong, especially because the mountains are closer to the sun. if your skin burns you're not going to survive being exposed to the sun). they were referred to as "white slaves" because they were lighter skinned, but they didn't look like what people would think of as white. ANYWAYS, on to explaining the origin of the Kurda (kurda = plural for kurd). With every invasion of white people, the indigenous non-white population were massacred, enslaved, or they escaped to the zagros mountains on the current border of iraq and iran, where they would re-group and try to rebuild their lives. eventually they might be integrated into the new state established by the whites if they chose to return, which many did because life in the mountains was unimaginably difficult. most of those that fled perished during the long, extreme winters but they drew and wrote their memories along the walls of the caves they took shelter in and we've kept these preserved to this day. some managed to build new homes and fortified cities, but few survived the winter months. the ones that returned or stayed were enslaved by whites, first the greeks, then the turks. eventually we learned how to prepare ourselves and survive in the winter climate of the zagros, and little by little groups of slaves escaped to the mountains and were able to stay there. we got stronger and eventually took back a significant amount of territory from the whites and have been fighting that same damn armed struggle to this day. they defeat us, we rebuild, heal, try to patch things up so that everyone can live peacefully, but they attack us and force us to defend ourselves, and if us defending ourselves involves any conceived loss on their part they go all out and defeat us again. all of the peoples currently living in the mountains are descended from blacks and we continue to honor the memory of our ancestors. we look white because of mass genocides and rapes in the 20th century, mostly perpetrated by germans, russians, and british (and also partially because of mixing with run away caucasus-sourced slaves). if you look at our language and culture our blackness is obvious. if you are interested i can e-mail you more detail. we are not necessarily related to colchians, sumerians, or whatever. the peoples living in the mountains that call themselves assyrians (asuri) are not the same as ancient assyrians…they are only different from kurda because they are mostly christian instead of muslim and because of geo-politically motivated rivalries, and historical inter-tribal conflicts. however we are the same people in the sense of having shared a truffle against the whites. the only ethnic group that has a higher rate of east african y-dna than us mountain peoples (i.e. kurda, lure, assuri, baluch) are the afro-iranians of hormozgan and baluchistan who are descended from african migrants that came later on. it is unfortunate that so many of us no longer look black. our elders always complain that "the russian and british changed our race" but i think that is a terrible way of thinking about it. we look different but it wasn't consensual and we are still the same people! if someone disfigured you would you stop being who you were before being disfigured? the worst part is that many of our people have sided with the whites. the aryan myth is such seductive origin story, especially for a ppl who are subjects of a state that denies their humanity and keeps them in the dark about their history. for this reason i am glad for your website. please include this information so people do not continue to make up stories about our origins. thnk you.
