Right now gangsta rap is an art form whose aim is to channel misguided black youth into prison ASAP.
When major corporations start promoting white gangsta rappers you will know that final destruction of the moral character of America has begun.

Its another example of "appropriation", and cynical marketing, only white people are playing at it- "going native" so to speak, for a while, and while the dollas are flowing into their coffers. Unfortunately too many people seem to think "gangsta" antics are some sort of marker of black "authenticity", i.e."keeping it real", etc etc, as social critics have noted. Hell Farrakhan has said as much.

Actually that destruction began long before "gangsta" and includes the toxic white "acid rock" and other such related things from way back. And that destruction has been much more damaging to black youth. Lip service may be paid on "Black History Month" but the "gangsta" persona too often, is adopted as some sort of "authenticity" stamp, and they excessively idolize such figures. The difference with white youth is that at the end of the day, they are just playing negro. They may yell "niggaa" along with 50-cent but for the most part they are going on to complete their homework, behave in the classroom, etc etc. White Mom and dad may be irritated at that "negro music" but that's all it is- irritating music. Relatively speaking, to a much greater extent, they make sure THEIR kids don;t go on t0 do "thug life" as "keeping it 100."
