Bitcoin present value: $2601.00 per coin

Ethereum/US Dollar (ETH/USD) Price Chart

Hardware needed for Bitcoin mining

Computer: Doesn't much matter which processor as long as it's between present and 2 years old. Hash code decoding is performed on the GPU (Graphics processor) so it's more important that the computer support one or better more 16-bit PCI-e expansion slots for 1 or more GPUs.

To get an example of how long a single computer housing one NVIDIA 480 GPU would take to mine one Ethereum coin, it would take about 2 months of continuous processing to mine one Ethereum coin. This time is decreased with the addition of additional GPUs.
So, the computer you select should have 2-4 open PCIe slots so as to house up to 4 GPUs.
A four GPU system (4x 480) would be capable of mining one Ethereum/Bitcoin every 2 weeks. The more modern the GPU, the better.

Are you talking about navidia work station GPU or gameing one and a 480 is like 3 generations old.

Yeah.
Most black people don't have the latest and greatest $600 GPU.
In fact, more black kids seem to have game consoles, but no computer.

Unfortunately, most black kids don't even know who NVIDIA or AMD are.
All they know is Playstation and X-Box.

If you have an older GPU, your best bet is to join a Bitcoin mining pool. This will add your computer resource to others on-line, and when a coin is mined, it's value is distributed among the pool members.

However, as I said above, if you have the latest NVIDIA Pascal GPU, that's even better and you can reduce that 2 month interval by 1/2 or more.
If you have two or more Pascals, then you can made some Bitcoins.
