It is is impossible. Anyone who believes it exist don't understand the Laws of Thermodynamic. Even "fuel cells " is a waste of time. Nuclear, fusion (if possible ), solar , hydro, wind are "true" alternatives. But solar and wind don't give bang for buck. They are only "friendly" to the environment. [/qb]
sigh :( Wow You Too XMan? Action News Reports of Water Car https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a74uarqap2E [/qb]
KING I think you need to post a link to some written info on the car, rather than just the video which does not show how it works. There is a 4 hour video purporting to detail its inner workings but no one is gonna sit and watch something that long. Just looking at the video, it appears the car does USE water to run, but SOME OTHER power source is needed to create the INITIAL processes needed to energize the water molecules. Per some accounts, electricity is used to make the hydrogen fuel cells work. Thus it turns out that the car while USING water, is not based on water as its fundamental power source. That source may be an electrical battery. If so, then the net energy savings is questionable, for batteries themselves, particularly big ones needed to generate enough juice to work the water molecules, are themselves the product of fossil fuels, in that they too have to not only be manufactured out of chemicals and metals, but they also have to be charged up, to keep giving enough juice. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water-fuelled_car I sympathize with the guy- if he can pull off a true water powered car, hell let's do it. But the NET energy savings, when the costs of the battery (assuming it is a battery giving the starting juice) may not be there as he claims. Still maybe it will be perfected one day. What other sources can you post on this? XYZ says: But solar and wind don't give bang for buck. They are only "friendly" to the environment. It depends what activity you are doing and what scale. A cheap wind turbine in a windy area pumping up water from a deep well, may well be cheaper and more sustainable, and repairable for a small farmer in Africa somewhere compared to buying a commercial gasoline powered pump, which needs purchased gas, not to mention having more complicated parts, meaning more expensive repairs if the gas engine quits. Solar can give more bang for the buck on small scale operations- say a solar array powering small scale generators or engines. Over time, the savings may cause a breakeven to be reached and then a profit. Water purifiers for example have been made using empty plastic bottles filled with dirty or impure river water, and left out in the sun. These simple arrangements can purify a substantial amount of water- a lot cheaper than a small farmer having to go out and spend scarce cash buying bottled water, or burning scarce fuel to boil water. And he might be able to get suitable bottles out of a roadside dump. Would this work for an entire country? Nope, but depending on scale and use, such things can be a very viable, cheaper option for poor people. And a bigger question- how can alternative technologies, or small nimble technologies help Africa bypass some of the top heavy infrastructure needed for development? Anyone? [/QB]
