I think that such things exist in Egypt as in other countries, but I believe it is so much rare case.

I saw cases of mockery against gallibya-wearing rustic people ... if you can consider that as racism.

i see stereotyping bordering on racism against some asians, but this is imported from the gulf countries...where most filipino women come to be employed as domestic help, so after a while, some people start treating every asian as 'hired help'

Egyptians are considered second-class citzens in Gulf countries. Just to mention Egyptians brings up the memory of foregin worker. Believe me I know this all too wel since many of my family works in the Gulf states.

Most of the hostile attacks in Egypt to Southern Sudanese come because many believe Southern Sudanese Christains are sneaky.

The mocking of the Gallabiya wearing Egyptians mostly occurs at the hands of stupid elite ''Afrangi'' Egyptians. Personally,I wear my Gallabiya when in Egypt whereever I go.

Ausar,
If someone went back in history 100 years ago, he'll find all our grand grandfathers were all wearing gallabiyas.
I felt so bad when I saw some rustic gallabiya-wearing man mocked by someone in the subway by someone. I kept on calming him down.

As to the issue of Egyptians being second-class citizens in the Gulf States, sometimes I feel Egyptians are considered so in their own country.

Most fellahin and Sa3eadi are treated like second class citzens. Go to regions like Bulaq and Imbaba to see the point that I am trying to express.
