Hi sandara
Al Diwan Center offers a variety of Arabic courses for summer 2005. great discounts.. free CD and Text books
Here the best place to study abroad in Egypt and learn Arabic in cairo in the summer program 2005
If you want some more details here..or some personal views.. OK
- To my knowledge, all teachers are native speakers, graduated from the top prestigious college of Arabic in the Arabic wolrd: Dar El Oloum, Cairo University. Many of them have graduate degrees/ diplomas in teaching Arabic as a foreign language..I know some of them.
Very friendly and experienced with westerners.
Ths institue has at least eight years around..developed a great reputaion.
Maintaining the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages, Washigton standards..
One of the American students recommends Al Diwan says:
"The AL Diwan Center itself is an excellent school for Arabic. I have studied French, Spanish, and Dutch before, all in their respective countries, and rarely have I had teachers as qualified as those here at AL Diwan. After only one month, in which I took five hours of class a day but did little outside work and took many trips, I can read and write in Arabic, and I have a basic command of Arabic for my use in the streets........"
I'd recommend you take some time browsing their website...know more about them, and also visit the other sites of other foreign language centers, contact every one of them, see what response they have, what instructional system they use, and if you can contact previous students that will be also helpful.
Have a nice visit to Egypt
