public holidays, look up an egyptian embassy web site online, they probably have them listed. friday is the day off. sometimes, private firms give saturday off too. some govt. workers take off early on thu afternoons.

most 5 star hotels have day use rates. then, there are clubs too. usually places like al ahram weekly (english edition) and yallabina will post a list around summer time detailing what's what (there's either a day use per person or cabana for 5 star hotels and some clubs allow day use for nonmembers for pools too)

what "places" for int. student cards? probably museums, i would imagine.

shops open - depends on the shops. most places are open late (9-10pm). specific trades have specific days off (sunday or monday for jewelry shops, etc.)

what do you mean how is eid celebrated?

best to do some initial research on the internet and look at the millions of web sites specifically on tourism in egypt - then, if you have specific questions, come back here and we'll try to answer.

Eid al fitr... which is the eid at the end of Ramadan..... I assume this is the Eid you are talking about... is usually celebrated by Egyptians with their families... going to the mosque also for prayer, having celebration meals and sweets, and sometimes children are given gifts.
Here in Hurghada many guys work away from their home towns... it's a chance to try to get home to celebrate with their families...
No huge public celebrations, as far as I know!
