Need internet access while staying in Egypt.
Is it possible to bring a laptop/notebook and get quick net access somehow from a rented villa during 3 week stay?
Or is a net cafe the only solution?

I think that if there is a phone line in your villa, you can access the internet. No cost to access internet itself, but you are charged for every phone call.

Exactly. You just plug your laptop's modem cable into the phone socket, dial one of internet access numbers (no registration necessary) and that's it.
Of course the connection is very slow, if you want a faster line you need to rent a house with a DSL line installed or go to an internet café.

You can either use any of the "0777" / "0707" free internet numbers, or subscribe to a DSL line. Subscription to DSL line is available in many places in Egypt.
It costs you: 150 EGP/ month, plus a small fee for router rent, or, if purchased, it will around: 300 EGP.
