Egypt Air reschedules flights to Alexandria
By a staff reporter

15 October 2006

DUBAI — In response to customers' requests, Egypt Air has decided to reschedule its Dubai-Alexandria flights to Friday and Saturday instead of Thursday and Friday to suit weekend changes, according to Jamal Hammad, Egypt Air Regional Manager in Dubai and Northern Emirates.

Other flights to Sharm El Sheikh resort will be offered at a competitive price in a bid to support the tourist sector in Egypt.

The company is currently setting up an advanced extended communication centre to have better communication facilities with its Dubai bureau, he said.

Egypt Air, Hammad said, had adopted a new reservation system billed 'Amaden', through which it will be connected to all tourist and travel agencies and bureaus.

The new system is set to become operative next February to make electronic reservation direct and available without any telephone communications.

The airline also has plans to increase the capacity of its flights, Hammad said.

Two daily Sharjah-Cairo flights are to be operated during summer months.
Furthermore, weekly flights to Asuit are to be increased to three while those to Cairo are to become 9. Electronic prepaid tickets system will be put in place by 2007, he added.
