Passengers departing from Egypt's airports can expect higher airport taxes as from January, a senior official announced yesterday."Passengers on domestic flights will pay $3 in airport tax per ticket for internal flights, while passengers on international flights will pay $15 per ticket," chairman of the Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation Ibrahim Mannaa said yesterday."The increased revenues will go towards improvements in airport services," Mannaa said, adding that Egyptian airport taxes are among the lowest in the Middle East.
