I had the flu a few weeks ago and was given 2 medicines from this list..........
Upon the recommendation of the FDA (Food and Drug Administration), all drugs containing phenylpronalamine should be withdrawn from the U.S. market. This decision was based on a study conducted to investigate the risk of hemorrhagic stroke associated with the use of phenylpronalamine. The study reported an association between phenylpronalamine use and hemorrhagic stroke in women. The increase risk of hemorrhagic stroke was for women using phenylpronalamine for weight control and as a nasal decongestant product. You can still buy sinutab in England and they even sell it in some supermarkets.

The recommendation was made by the American FDA, and would only be applicable in the UK if the BPS (?) also agreed to it. But as a warning has been issued it is worth taking note of.
