Hello--- I was wondering if there is any regulation against a foreigner who is not a full-time resident opening an Egyptian bank account in dollars or in EGP. Is it allowed to have a freign address for mmailings, or would I need an Egyptian address fon record? Thank you Helwa

Hi---I wasn't able to find this out. Can I use a Western address when opening an account, or does the bank require an address in Egypt? Thank you Helwa

Strangely enough a postbox-adress outside Egypt was allowed, a houseadress was not.

If you're in Hurghada, the chances are you haven't got an address...... the bank manager told me just to guess an address...... they can hold any correspondence for you in the branch!!!
