Culture Ministry plans to illuminate the Citadel

Saturday, Septemper 22, 2007

Culture Ministry plans to use state-of-the-art technology to illuminate the Citadel (Al-Qalaa).

Culture Minister Farouk Hosni said Friday they will employ a group of Italian experts for the purpose. They will undertake the implementation of the project under the supervision of Misr Company for Sound and Light, he added.

The Minister also said the project would take around 18 months adding that costs were expected to amount to L.E. 10 million.

On the other hand, UNESCO experts headed by Francesco Bandarin, Director of UNESCO World Heritage Centre, made a report concerning the project of Cairo Financial and Tourist Centre after they had received executive paintings of the project in August 20th, 2007.

The report recorded the international prominent value of the project and its integration with the Citadel's location in the historical background of Cairo.

Well it can't be you Lazeez because you have a computer you sit on.

But there enough people out who can't afford to even buy enough bread these days.

"Sure let's spend 10 Million LE on 'foreign experts' because our own people are not qualified enough....." [Roll Eyes]

IMO as far as I remember the lights around and inside the Citadel were adequate.
