You see it's a different culture, while we are celebrating our birthdays with family and friends it's not a 'big thing' for Egyptians. Honestly I've seen only birthdays of children getting attention.

Dzosser Member # 9572	posted Mothers day is celebrated in Egypt on March 21st. that's one hell of a business all around the shopping malls and stuff..the backround music in those places is an archaic song we Egyptians are fed up with sung by a Faiza Ahmed that's been reproduced for TV, picturing pathetic scenes of family gatherings around an ailing old hag offering her gifts and showing the poor toothless woman in tears. The song is nerve wrecking when you're in a mall on that specific day.

Mother has five kids and not one of them have the same father. I see it everyday.
