A 6-year-old boy is trapped in an experimental helium balloon 8,500 ft. high over Colorado. I thought at first it's a bad joke - but it's not!! How terrible!!!

I heard that last night but knew it would end up being a hoax. Listen to what the boy says (we did it for the show) and how flustered his father got when the news anchor confronted him about his son's statement:

CNN did a piece on this last night and calculated the whole fiasco cost taxpayers at least $26,000. What a bizarre story.

I would also imagine it turns out to be more than that.
God this was just one strange story I won't forget that quickly. Thankfully the boy turned out be alive and well.

It reminded me of this story that happened in 1987. A little girl in Texas fell down a well and the whole country was watching her rescue for 58 hours.
