Christians do not all believe exactly the same things. There are several groups (called denominations). These groups split up because they could not agree on some points about the Christian teaching (or “doctrine”). The first split was in the 5th century after the Church Council of Chalcedon. The argument was about the nature of Jesus. Should he be regarded as god and man in one combined nature, or in two separated natures? The pope caused the split by breaking communion with any bishop who wouldn't say "two separated natures". The Christians who did not agree with the decision of the Council to excommunicate them, became the Non-Chalcedonian Orthodox. The largest Non-Chalcedonian Churches are the Coptic Orthodox in Egypt, the Ethiopian Orthodox, the Armenian, and some Lebanese Orthodox Churches. i thought christians were people who believe that jesus died for our sins and if we believe in him and ask forgiveness we will enter into heaven.and have eternal live. i guess i am talking about the born again christian

No thats what all Christians believe, not just the born again freaks.
There is hundreds of variations of Christian doctrine and dogma; equal number of Christian denominations.
Same with the Buddhists, Hindus and as long as you are not speaking with a Sunni, many different denominations of Muslim too.

Copts are Orthodox christians in Egypt, they originally came from Upper Egypt. Very strict.\ Newcomer explained it better
If you are talking about true monotheists. The most essential dogma's in christianity derive directly from the Egyptian religious history. Remember Moses staying in Egypt and all the other encounters.

You'll find a lot of the dogma's in christianity derive from the ancient Egyptian religion. Egyptians were very religious before christianity and are still (Herodotus about the Egyptians in the 5th centry BC) The liturgical language is a remains of pre-arabic Egyptian language.
The church was established in Egypt by the apostle Mark. He also established the Alexandrian school, since theological learning was very important. Patriarchs were chosen (till tis day they are) from the academic elite. Principle in the school (remember the first century) was the equality of class, race en sexe and stimulated religious as non-religious research as well. They were a centre to the religious in the countries around them. It was very international and influenced by the Greek intellectual society of whom a lot live in Alex at that time.
The coptic orthodox church is a very rich traditional church. They kept it all. You can even see 'Jewish' praying swaying the body back and forth. An almost 'evangelical' relation with Jesus. There is a rich knowledge of saints and their lives which they honour with services. They honour Mary and have a fastingperiod in her honour to. They have all the 'regular' christian festivals, most of em some 14 days later then in the west. Rich in rituals and studying of the bible. Sundayschools and groups for adults, festivals together with other orthodox, acquaintences with academics and universities over their rich historical roots and current practices. Great sermons.

you are from Florida, you should understand how politically powerful these very small and twisted groups are.
Born Again Christians don't just reconvict themselves to God and Christ's sacrifice, they ready the world for the second coming of Christ. ON THEIR OWN SCEDULE ACCORDING TO THEIR OWN DEMANDS!
I can't understand why its so difficult for a person to understand how dangrous these people are, they are the American produced al-Quada and Taliban.

Some 10% of Egyptians are still Christians, the copts being the largest group next to some small minoritygroups of catholics, other orthodox (Armenian, Greek e.a.), lutherans of different denominations. The numbers are declining. Since some decades you have coptic communities in all the capital and other western cities.

Churches can be different but in Amsterdam they are not strict, they are (to a reformed raised christian as myself) catholic in the sense that they have the official doctrine and there is life itself. Not everyone can make it to 'communion' due to religous obligations but everyone gets a piece of holybread at their way out.
