Tina, that weird sign is the sign for Euros. A Euro is worth a bit less than a British pound but more than a US Dollar.
You're looking at just over US$10 as Fayrowla and Of Gold have said.

me too i can copy and paste it but cant make it.. on a british keyboard is it like on a special key alone or do u have to click shift and a key to make the pound sing? £

On a British keyboard £ is over the 3 on the number line.
We have " over the 2 and @ over the , - reverse of US keyboard.

Nope... not here. Mine says all that but doesn't type what it says it should.
Must be the language settings... took me 3 hrs to stop google being arabic.
I have changed it to UK English, maybe if I went US English it would all revert. But then spell check would be wonky as americans and brits spell many words differently.
