I guess European means no turquoise, pistachio or purple colors, no gray and black star shaped ceramic floors, neon lamps and cheap marbleised plaster cupids/lions to greet you at the entrance.

so true, it would be historical to find one finished flat that is not painted green, pink, bright yellow or red.
I am always struggling to not get "sheeted" here, as I am currently searching for a flat.

I think the problem with many of those Egypt flats is not exactly the color they are painted,but those blinding golden extremely baroque style furniture.....ewwww!
