Could any of you recommend any good books about Ancient Egypt. Currently I have begun reading Akhenaten the false prophet.
If any of you have read it care to tell me how you viewed it?
Well hope to hear about other interesting informative and preferably recent books on ancient Egypt...
Thanks

Really great book is 'the tutankhamen deception' by Gerald O'Farrell...makes for controversial reading, but hey! controversy is good to read. And very good too!

This book is out of print and no longer available. I've been trying to order a used copy of this book, but so far have had no luck.

Have you ever tried Inter-library loan? A new book just published by Egyptologist David O Connor looks interesting. The title is Egypt in Africa.

Hi,
This is my first post, I'm a British citizen of Nigerian parentage with an interest in African history.
With regards to books, a couple came out last year. I'm yet to read them but they look interesting:
Ancient Egypt in Africa - Encounters with Ancient Egypt Series by Andrew Reid and Peter Ucko (August 2003)
Genesis of the pharoahs by Toby Wilkinson (April 2003)
I've read the following and it's quite good, if a little academic:
The Black Pharoahs: Egypt's Nubian Rulers Robert G. Morkot (July 2002)

Your list has non-Egyptology books so I am forced to delete your post.
Sorry
Even Gadalla's book is propaganda not history. He just puts native Egyptian clothes on Speke's Hamitic Hypothesis (sending them westward instead of southward).
