He took the throne at 6, and ruled for another 94 years. Imagine the stories he'd have to tell.

Btw, if you find the Amarna period interesting, some believe Pepi II's pop might've been involed in a murdered plot. There's even some sun worship thrown in for a good mix.

Does anyone know what Manetho's source to his claim of a 94 year reign of Pepi II?
According to the Turin kinglist , dated from the reign of Ramses II, Pepi II ruled for 90 years. http://www.ancient-egypt.org/glossary/turin_kinglist/0401_0417.html

Didn't someone try to kill the first Pepi? I believe the harem women wanted him dead,so he let Weni investigate the crime. I still need to learn more about the early 5-8 dyansties because these dyansties are simply a fog to me.

Interesting. Maybe people just rounded the number off today. I guess we'll have to check it out.

That's the question. What's the real story behind the murder of Teti, the ascension of Userkare the throne and the plot against Pepi I? Are these three distinct events?
