Prince Among Slaves is a documentary film chronicling the life of Abdul Rahman Ibrahim Ibn Sori, an African Prince enslaved in Mississippi, whose struggle for freedom in the American South has lessons for us all. Produced by UPF for broadcast on PBS. UPF (c) 2007.

I heard about this....I know its sounds absurd but I wonder If was at all related to Abd Rahman of Andalucia

Sounds like a very important story, that needs to be told. More Historic documents need to be told like this.

Actually, they should simply tell the stories of the great empires of West Africa as opposed to exclusively focusing on slavery.

And of course this is the same company that produced the movie about Al Andalus and the Moors that had no Moors in it.

But of course American oriented histories of Africa always start with slavery..... for a reason.

So is the moral of the story that it is alright to enslave Blacks, so long as the boy’s daddy is not a king? Well ya, I guess they would see it that way.

On the other hand, the lesson for Blacks is; no matter how much money you have, and no matter how much power you think you have, the White man will always be fearful of others, and greedy; thus he will eternally be your enemy, be on guard.

^Agreed. In the past Western Europes (non-royal) general population was reduced to poverty and serfdom, ultimately enslaved, really.
