Here's the etymology of the name Barack:
quote:

Etymology:
The origin and development of a word, traced back as far as possible in time, usually by the methods of comparative linguistics.

Barack

The etymology of the name "Barack" can be traced back to the ancient African ontological notion which combines the Ba + Ra + the Ka which becomes "Baraka" and means "Blessing" in the Mdu Ntr. Some have naively tried to refer back only so far as the 'child' languages, such as Kiswahili, Arabic, or Hebrew as being the source without confronting the reality that neither the Arabs nor the Hebrews had any direct notion of the Ba, the Ra or the Ka.

The word "Baraka" would later be contracted to "Barak" and would be borrowed by 'child' languages such as Arabic, Hebrew, Swahili, etc. This contraction is not uncommon in the Mdu Ntr: for example, an original term for a Masri ("Egyptian" sic!) in the Mdu Ntr was "Rome.t n Kem.t" or "Man of Black" which becomes contracted in modern Coptic to "Rmnk".

The seniority of language
Mdu Ntr - c6000 BC
Hebrew - c1000 BC
Arabic - c800 BC
Kiswahili - c200 AD

Hieroglyphic dictionary - pg. 204
bareka - to bless
baraka - to bow the knee in homage
bareka - gift, present, tribute

Obama
It appears that the word "Obama" is an expression; ie Oba + ma

- pg. 28
Oba - to present as a gift, make an offering
Obu - "

- pg. 38
Ab - something pure or holy
Aba - to endow with soul, to make strong or courageous...
Eba - to marvel

- pg. 117
Oba
- altar, offering table

- pg. 269
ma - to prepare
ma - temple
ma - to give, offer sacrifice

So in the Mdu Ntr, the expression "Obama" would mean "sacrificial altar" or "temple altar."

The entire name "Barack Obama" expresses a religeous notion...

The name "Barack Obama" is derived from contemporary Kiswahili in the same manner that "Onofrio" is derived from contemporary Italian, with the same caveat; that "Onofrio" comes from the Greek "Onuphrius" which comes from the Mdu Ntr "Won Noufre" which means "he-who-is-eternally-good"...

Can the Mdu Neter word for blessing, i.e. 'Baraka', be contracted to 'Barack' in the Mdu Neter, or did the contraction of the name only occur in the 'child languages'?

It's complete B.S. Obama is a Nilotic word from the Luo language. Barack is an adaptation of the Arabic word, which does mean "blessing." However, it doesn't ultimately come from Ancient Egyptian but from Proto-Semitic and ultimately proto-Afro-Asiatic. AFAIK, there was no surviving cognate in Egyptian for the term, but either way, it wasn't derived from Egyptian.

I don't know about that. According to Sheikh Diop, Ba-Ra-Ka in the Mdu Neter acutually means 'Blessing'. He wrote this in his book "African Origin of Civilization".

Concerning the word 'Obama', it probably is an Luo word because according to Barack Obama, his great, great grandfather(something like that) had 'Obama' as his first name.

Funny enough, according to a Muslim friend, it is recorded back in the 10-12th centuries that there was a black man in Arabia whose name was 'Obama', and they compared his name to 'Osama' or 'Usama'. I was told this by a friend. If you want more info on that, let me know.
