Hi everyone. i know maybe i shouldnt be putting up a topic for my first post, but theres a couple of things i'd really like to know. I'm coming to the end of three years of stone masonry at Weymouth college in England and ive started reading "Ancient Egyptian construction and architecture". I'm intrigued by the use of wooden wedges used to seperate the stone from the ground, so much so that i'd like to give it a try. The book hasnt given much detail on the wedges though so i was wondering if anyone knew the dimensions of the wedges, the wood used and how tight they would have to fit into the holes. Also, if anyone could give me an idea of how far apart the wedges should be and any info on their usage, that would be great. thanks
