The following are examples from Adolf Erman's Egyptian Grammar that will illustrate how to properly read the hieroglyphic "km-t" and through these examples, how NOT to render an improper reading. EXAMPLES OF DETERMNATIVES INCLUDES THE"NWT" AND ITS MEANING HOW "NWT" IS BOTH A DETERMINATIVE AS WELL AS AN IDEOGRAM ...AND IN A SENTENCE AND NOW YOU HAVE THE PROPER, BASIC KNOWLEDGE TO READ THIS GLYPH...
