When I emailed Dr. Kitchen and brought up the epigraphic evidence showing two distinct languages at the time they propose Ethnio-Semitic emerged (one written in characters with phonetic properties thought to be ancestral to Ge'ez, the other in standard South Arabian), he did not address it.
