It doesn't matter whether it's polished, wood, iron, brass, or painted. It was convincingly sculpted into an African-appearing woman. Wood ages and rot and disintegrate over time if it's isn't perserved. I don't think any sculptor would resemble a mummy even if it reflects the same person. [/QB][/QUOTE]
